Rising eighth-grader Indra Sofian was recently recognized through Rockmart Library's summer reading program, "Be Creative at Your Library." He won first place in the creative writing contest. During the summer, 32 programs were provided for the registered participants. These included weekly storytellers, puppet shows and magicians. Workshops included graphic art instruction with the creator of Galaxy Man comic books, Kyle Puttkammer; quilting with Kim Wright; and cultural masks with Christine Mitchell of Christine’s Art Gallery of Atlanta. A total of 1,644 people attended the programs. Indra is the son of Julita and Erwin Sofian of Rockmart.
