While all Lower School students participate in the Accelerated Reading (AR) program, many go above and beyond the teacher requirements.
"Students who reach certain goals are rewarded with a trophy and an off-campus lunch," said Lower School Librarian Ann Glass.
On May 1, students in grades 3-5 who had accumulated 100 AR points were treated to lunch at Gondolier’s Pizza. These students were Bailey Brock, Eden Marrs, Sidney Stout, Megan Healy, Chris Hubbard, Lydia Clotfelter, David Thoms, Alex Cox, Bethany Cagle, Theo Welch, Kyle Wagers, Vikram Singh, Camille Temples, Davis Page, Shelby Martin, Rachel Hudson, Nolan Jackson, O’Keefe Johnson, Austin Schubert, Garrett Morgan, Stevenson Walker, Asa Crawford, Indra Sofian, Shivani Amar, Allie Hurley, Sam Mathis, Dillon Weeks, Katie Hutchins, Cameron Rohani, Logan Griffiths, Jason Mauer, Jessica Mauer, Sawyer Hicks, Kortni Smallwood, Breck Tillery, Cara Key, Saahil Patel, Baxter McWhorter, Harris Burton and Heather Peace.
On May 8, second-graders who had accumulated 50 points were treated to lunch at Moe's. These students were Brandon Cox, Sally Jones, Will Crawford, and Alex Russell.
"Additionally, any student who reaches 200 or 300 points receives a hardback copy of a book of their choosing," said Glass.
