Hers is often the first voice you hear when you call the Alumni Relations Office. Her energy and enthusiasm for Darlington’s alumni is unmatched. And over the years, many of you have come to know her not only as a link back to your alma mater, but also as your friend.

At the end of the current school year, alumni near and far will bid farewell to Alumni Relations Officer Lauren Ledbetter, who has decided to leave Darlington to pursue other interests.

“My family has had a long history with Darlington, and I consider myself very fortunate to have been a part of it,” said Ledbetter. “I have met so many extraordinary, neat, fun, interesting people during my three years as alumni relations officer. What I enjoyed most was hearing stories from all different decades and perspectives. They were all different, but all fond memories of Darlington. It really is a special place.”

During her tenure, Ledbetter was instrumental in orchestrating various aspects of the Centennial Celebration, including Centennial Alumni Weekend and a string of successful Centennial on the Road events. According to Ledbetter, Centennial Alumni Weekend had the highest attendance in Darlington history – with over 1,000 people returning to campus – and the spring gatherings in Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte and New York City attracted over 300 area alumni and friends.

“I’d like to give a special thanks to a great advancement team that always pitches in to support everything our alumni do,” said Ledbetter. “And to our alumni volunteers: We wouldn’t have the variety of special events that we do without your assistance and enthusiasm. I will miss you all. Also, I’d be remiss not to thank SAGE and ARAMARK for their tireless efforts to make our on-campus events so spectacular.”

Darlington School is currently working to fill the alumni relations officer position. Interested parties should contact Ashley Ellington, chief development officer, at 706-236-0427.
