Darlington School’s science, math and language honor societies inducted new members during a ceremony held Monday, Feb. 12 in Morris Chapel.
To be inducted into Gamma Chi Epsilon Science National Honor Society, seniors must be a member of the Georgia Junior Academy of Science; be in the top 20 percent of their graduating class; have successfully completed at least three science courses and be enrolled in a fourth; and be in good standing with Darlington School. Inductees included Norman Bonnyman, Adam Diggs, Christie Doss, A.J. Evans, Alex Glass, Brett Henson, Bas Iamsasri, Anna Krueger, Sunny Lee, Emily Morrow, Sebastian Nagel, Jun Park, Michelle-Marie Picon, Anna Safigan, Michael Schecter, Brittany Sloan, Fon Vuttipittayamongkol and Alicia Wright.
To be inducted into Mu Alpha Theta Math National Honor Society, students must be currently enrolled in Pre-Calculus and have a minimum 94 average in all math courses taken. Only seniors may be inducted during their first year at Darlington. Inductees included Dylan Baker, Grover Brown, Claire Davis, Mac Gilliland, Bas Iamsasri, Katherine Knight, Chang Sup Lee, Sebastian Nagel, Chutimun Napombejara, Jin Woo Park, Jun Park, Fon Vuttipittayamongkol, Dam-Sil Yoo and Spencer Whittingham.
To be inducted into Société Honoraire de Français, students must have completed two years of French or be a senior completing their second year of French, with an average of 90 for the two years. Inductees included Yena Ahn, Katherine Knight, Alicia Kubesch, Heather Leavell-Keaton, Nina Oltmanns, Laura Rhoades, Esa Sofian, Rebecca Vollmer and Morgan Wilson.
To be inducted into Sociedad Honoraria Nacional, students must be enrolled in their third year or more of Spanish and have a 90 overall average in Spanish III, an 85 in Spanish III Honors, or an 80 in Spanish IV/AP Spanish.
