Five students have been named to the Rome News-Tribune's 2006 All-Area Soccer teams.

Bethany Blevins is the daughter of Tracy and Michelle Blevins of Rome. A skilled striker, she makes her third All-Area team appearance after scoring 20 goals this year, giving her 71 for her career. Blevins has signed to play soccer with the Shorter Lady Hawks next fall.

Lauren Mauer, the daughter of Chris and Kim Mauer of Rome, was named Co-Player of the Year. A sophomore sweeper, Mauer helped the Lady Tigers post a 9-5-1 record this year. While she did score two goals offensively, her value was in shutting down other teams' offenses.
