Ten seniors, 17 juniors, and 21 sophomores were inducted into the Darlington’s National Honor Society on Feb. 9 in Morris Chapel. Only those students with a cumulative grade point average of 87.5 percent were considered for this induction. In addition, potential members must meet high standards of leadership, service, and character. A selecting committee composed of five faculty members appointed by the headmaster evaluated potential members.
Leadership is based on the student’s participation in the School activities or election to an office. To meet the service requirement, a student must have been active in two or more service projects in the School and the community. The selecting committee measures character in terms of integrity, behavior, ethics, and cooperation with both students and faculty.
