Darlington School seeks a Fifth Grade Literacy and Social Studies Teacher to join its Lower Grades teaching team. A Darlington teacher fully supports the mission and values of the school and has the primary responsibility for creating the best student experience possible in support of the school’s learning framework, The Cycle of Learning. The candidate should value the craft of teaching as much as the skills and content being learned, and would join a dynamic environment of teaching professionals who are continuously growing and collaborating. Teachers work with grade-level and enrichment teachers along with the administrative team to support the mission of Darlington School and provide a program that nurtures every child’s success.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to elementary education (master’s degree preferred) and have relevant classroom teaching experience. The Fifth Grade teacher is responsible for cultivating a superior student experience leading to excellent outcomes in literacy and social studies through five key result areas: curriculum implementation, classroom management, parent relations and communication, student relations and communication, and personal and professional staff development. The candidate must have a genuine appreciation and passion for teaching children and a desire to work with all types of learners.
