Julia Thomas | May 14, 2020 | 721 views

Before the world shifted, the Advancement Office had planned to share senior spotlights on some of the faces of the Class of 2020 and what Darlington means to them. These students represent everything Darlington’s faculty and staff work tirelessly for - our future alumni.

There has never been a better time to feature our seniors - they deserve the spotlight as the spring they so looked forward to has shifted. This series will feature several Darlington seniors who will share their favorite things about Darlington and also how they are adjusting to this new world of distance learning.

We hope you will enjoy getting to know these seniors better and will make a gift to honor the Class of 2020, who need our support now more than ever. To make a gift to the 2019-2020 Darlington Fund please click here

Let’s get to know Molly Brewer (’20), a day student from Rome, Georgia.

How have you met the challenge of distance learning?

I keep a schedule and try and stay busy.

What’s your favorite song?

"1 2 step" by Ciara because it was the first cheer dance I learned and I've had fun doing that cheer dance with my team since freshman year.

What’s your favorite thing served in the dining hall?

Pizza!

What house are you in?

I am the head day prefect in Regester house.

What are you involved in at Darlington (clubs, etc.)?

I was on varsity cheer and varsity swim and I was on the Regester leader team.

If you are in sports who is your favorite coach and why?

My favorite coach is my swim coach, Coach Hadaway. She made it a great last season pulling our team together.

What is your favorite place on campus and why?

The library for all of the memories I made hanging out there with my friends.

Who is your favorite teacher and why?

My favorite teacher is Mr. Marshall because I always enjoyed his stories he told in class. His sophomore english class was by far my favorite at Darlington. His energy for the material made the class really engaging.

Where do you want to go to college and what do you want to do?

I am going to LSU majoring in mass communications and minoring in finance.

If you could name the two new swans what would you name them?

Fred and Deric :)

If you were given $10,000 to donate where would you donate to and why?

I would give my money to facilities because while our campus is charming, some of the heating systems are in need of updating.

We have 1,500 donors who give to Darlington every year sure you have a great experience - in 10 words or less how would you thank them?

Thank you so much for supporting the mighty Darlington Tigers!

What is your favorite thing about Darlington and why is that important to you?

My teachers because the closeness of our community has enabled me to build great relationships with these important adults in my life.
