Our Meet the Alumni Council series allows the personalities of our alumni volunteers shine through. The Darlington Community is fortunate to have such a strong group of alumni willing to share their time and talents to better our school!
Annie Rosen (’02, LD ’18) lives and works in New York City. She is Director of Partnerships for Wiser Solutions, Inc. In addition to her work for Darlington on the Alumni Council, Annie also serves as class agent.
Let’s get to know Annie in today’s installment of our Meet the Alumni Council series:
Where did you grow up?
Charleston, South Carolina
How long have you served on the Alumni Council?
Less than a year
Tell us a little about your family:
I have a husband named Jon and an old rescue dog named George.
What music is playing in your car?
I have not owned a car in over 10 years since I live in New York City.
Who was your favorite teacher at Darlington (and why)?
Mr. Milford - one of the most genuine people I've ever encountered in my life. Ms. Wadell - for being totally out there, but beyond encouraging. Mr. Davis, art history - it ended up being my major in college, he was very engaging.
What's your favorite movie?
"Godfather Part 1" (controversial I know)
My favorite trip was...
Definitely Patagonia - highly recommend.
My favorite Darlington memory is...
There is not one memory in particular, it is a culmination of events that range from just hanging around the lounge in the dorm, prefect week my senior year, hanging around with people in the school store, winning an academic award in art history, which would have been shocking for pre-Darlington Annie, senior party (which is technically probably not a Darlington event), weekends with my Rome parents the Davis's and my second unofficial Rome family the Harris's. It's honestly more of a sentiment.
Last book I read for fun was....
Last David Sedaris book that came out - "Calypso"
Four people I'd like to take to coffee...
Larry Ellison, Ray Dalio, Sergey Brin, Mukesh Ambani
Cats or dogs?
Of course dogs!
My favorite saying is...
Something my four year old nephew says "You get what you get and you don't get upset."
What I like most about Darlington is...
The kindness of the people and the great sense of community, the environment allows young people to flourish.
