Fourth grade has learned a lot about Georgia's own folk artist, Howard Finster, this year in art. The weather was beautiful on Friday and it was the perfect day to explore Paradise Garden, where Finster spent 30 years creating a gorgeous museum to spread messages of love and spirituality through his art. Finster said, "I took the pieces you threw away, put them together by night and day. Washed by the rain. Dried by the sun. A million pieces all in one."
Fourth-graders had so much fun discovering all of the treasures that Finster turned into art. They appreciated seeing everyday objects in a new way. Howard Finster also said, "I never met someone I did not love." I think fourth grade felt the love from the spirit of this special place, and a good time was had by all (including Ozzy the dog, who happily joined our tour)!
