Click here to read the April 19 Rome News-Tribune article about the service project spearheaded by Mary Anna Fricks ('18) to provide new pajamas to foster kids in transition.

The sophomore answered the call when she found out that Floyd County has one of the highest percentages of children in foster care in the state. Passion for Pajamas was started in hopes of giving children in foster care something that is bright and cheerful, new—and their own.

Fricks first became involved with the foster care system when she started volunteering to organize a clothing and supply closet maintained by the local Division of Family and Children Services.

Donations are being accepted through May 2 in bins located in Rome at Do Good Boutique (206 E. Second St.), 7 Hills Fellowship (530 Broad St.), and St. Mary’s Catholic School (401 E. Seventh St.). Donations are also being collected in Rockmart, Ga., at Rockmart United Methodist Church at 135 Church St.
