Five Recognized in Georgia Technology Competition

Several of our students that won first place at the NWGA Regional Technology Competition went on to compete virtually at the Georgia Student Technology Competition. 

Shannon Li ('21) took home first place, along with a scholarship, for winning overall in the Video Production category with his movie, "One and Only." You can view his presentation and movie here. With a professional crew and actors, the film looked like it belonged in the theater. Shannon wrote, directed, and filmed the entire movie. He has a passion for filmmaking and it definitely showed in this movie, complete with a surprising twist ending. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this talented filmmaker.

Jonathan Murphy ('21) and Charlie Reed ('21) took home second place in digital photo production for their graphic photo, One World, One Darlington. This was their fourth year in a row participating and placing in the state competition. Both Johnathan and Charlie are incredibly talented in graphic design and using Photoshop to create amazing photographs. This year, they took the theme "One School, One Darlington" and created a stunning representation.

Bringing home a third-place medal at the competition in Project Productivity was Avagail Barksdale and Tessa Chapman for their bakery for charity. The girls created their own business to generate money for the Davies Shelter and Ruth & Naomi House. The project included posters, a logo, stickers, a budget, and a variety of other business items. Avagail and Tessa did an amazing job and also showed true service beyond self.
