We know that students accomplish great things when curiosity is paired with the opportunity to explore. That’s why Darlington created a pathway for seniors to take a deep dive into a topic of their choosing and/or solve a real-world problem in a meaningful way.
Senior Ventures is a year-long academic program built on a framework of leadership, innovation and community engagement. Through a proven self-guided exploratory process, seniors whose proposals are selected for this program work independently to develop a project that’s interdisciplinary in scope and is connective, performance-based, investigative, or entrepreneurial.
Learning comes to life.
Senior Ventures is the capstone of the Darlington experience, giving students the opportunity to turn their passions into purposeful, real-world learning. Through hands-on projects and the design-thinking process, students develop valuable skills in critical thinking, project management, problem-solving, and communication while exploring a field that inspires them.
Each participant is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, encouragement, and professional insight throughout the experience. These meaningful partnerships help students gain confidence, navigate challenges, and better understand the expectations of their chosen field.
The learning doesn't stop when the project is complete. Through blogs, podcasts, community events, presentations, and other creative outlets, students share what they've discovered with the Darlington community, inspiring collaboration, curiosity, and lifelong learning while demonstrating the knowledge and skills they've developed along the way.
