Zimmer House holds blanket drive

The Zimmer House is sponsoring the second annual blanket drive this 2001 Christmas season. In this blanket drive, new or used blankets are being collected in boxes or bins around the school to be sent to a local charity such as the Salvation Army. Students want to help families in need during the holidays.
“We are hoping to collect as many blankets as we did last year, which was over four hundred blankets,” said sophomore Mike Jones. “We are starting off slow this year but we should get up to speed soon.” Plans to boost participation for the event include a Phone-A-Thon. Any blanket, used or new, dropped into a labeled box or bin before the Christmas break would be greatly appreciated by students and the families benefiting.
