Kindergarten and pre-first students saw some of their friends and family members from a different perspective during Career Week in May. Several fathers visited the classroom to tell about their jobs. The students also ventured out into the community to see their parents in their workplaces. During a visit to Redmond Regional Medical Center, Dr. Jay Johnson, Chandler’s dad, gave a tour of the emergency room and demonstrated how to use sutures. He put some in a pig’s ear. Dr. Michael Ashmore, Maggie’s dad, who is an anesthesiologist at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, demonstrated how children are given anesthesia before surgery.
