Wooten ('14) recognized by National Achievement Scholarship Program

Senior Kataeya Wooten has been named an Outstanding Participant in the 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Program after scoring in the top three percent of more than 160,000 black Americans who took the PSAT.
Wooten is an Elson S. Floyd Scholar, an AP Scholar, an Admission Tiger Expert and a servant leader. A member of the Headmaster's List, she is also a recipient of the Rhodes College Book Award, the St. Lawrence Book Award, The Inkslinger Adviser's Award and the E.L. Wright Award for Yearbook. She is the daughter of KaTriena Wooten.
The National Achievement Program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corp., was initiated in 1964 to recognize academically promising black students throughout the nation and to provide scholarships to a substantial number of the most outstanding program participants. Outstanding Participants in the National Achievement Scholarship Program receive a certificate, and their names are referred to higher education institutions across the country.
