Last March, the girls of the graduating class were invited to participate in a Saturday morning workshop entitled WINGS – Women Investigating Necessary Gateway Skills. The program was organized by Darlington parent Marcy Erwin and Head of House Blythe Erlandson with lots of help from the parents of the graduating girls.

Response to that program was so positive that it warrants being made an annual event. This year, the program will expand to include the boys with their own program, called ROOTS, designed to meet their specific needs as they venture into the real world. Door prizes will be awarded, including two U.S. Savings Bonds.

More parental involvement is needed. Parents of seniors, please contact Blythe Erlandson, berlandson@darlingtonschool.org, to share suggestions for topics to be discussed (last year’s topics included basic car maintenance, time management and personal safety), or to volunteer time and energy to help organize and set-up (gathering volunteer speakers, decorations, registration, etc.).Faculty members are invited to give input as well.
