Wind ensemble joins GISA All Select Honor Band

Twelve students from the Darlington Wind Ensemble participated in The 2001 Georgia Independent Schools All Select Honor Band on October 27 and 28. The students were seniors Jason Chapman, Dusty Large, Porter Leslie, Matt Kleist, and Andrew Babcock; juniors David Huguenel, Reggie Gill, Allen Perez, and Raymond Jang; sophomore Chan Woo; and freshmen Dennis Kim, and Jonathan Lane.
The band was under the direction of Dr. Robert W. Rumbelow, Conductor of Wind Ensemble Activities and Conductor of Opera in the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. Following a full day of rehearsals on Saturday, Oct. 27, the students performed with the band in concert on Sunday at Breneau University in Gainesville, Ga. “These young men on the fine job they did in concert and for representing Darlington School in this event,” Bill King, instrumental music director.
