As economic and competitive pressures force Darlington School to reach target populations more effectively, Anne Paige Wilson has been named the director of marketing beginning July 1, 2005.
Once synonymous with student admission/enrollment, marketing efforts include conducting research and directing relationships to current students, alumni, donors, the business community, parents, and governmental and civic leaders. The broader scope of marketing for Darlington will result in a heightened brand recognition in the region, the nation and internationally.
Wilson will work in close coordination with public relations, alumni relations, development and other units under the institutional advancement umbrella. She will work with Bruce Watterson, associate vice president for public relations, to shape Darlington’s integrated marketing plan and with Joe Montgomery, vice president for advancement, as a parent and constituent liaison.
“We are lucky to have Anne Paige Wilson join the Darlington staff,” Watterson said. “Together, we will be carefully targeting our audience and assessing its wants and needs; shaping an appropriate message; using creative and effective ways of delivering the message; and finally, assessing the results of our communications efforts.
“Darlington School is forward-thinking,” Watterson continued. “By encouraging a more comprehensive and results-based view of the communications process, integrated marketing can and will lead to a more effective institutional advancement programming effort.”
Most recently, Wilson was the event coordinator for Redmond Regional Medical Center. In that capacity, she assisted the Heart of the Community Board of Governors with the production of the Heart of the Community Awards. Under Wilson’s leadership, this event raised an unprecedented amount of money and built the Heart of the Community Guest House, placed 26 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the community and built a par-course fitness center at Ridge Ferry Park.
She has worked in marketing, public relations and as a freelance writer-reporter, and has been a hard-working volunteer in the Rome community. Wilson is a graduate of Berry College and is married with three children.
