Where Are the Books?

If you have wandered through the shelves in the McCallie-Kennedy Library recently, you may have wondered where all the books have gone. Don't panic! They're coming back very soon.

After 17 great years of wear and tear, our carpet has finally come to the end of its life. We're scheduled to have new carpeting installed on the first floor in early June. In preparation for this exciting renovation, we are packing up our books so that the carpeting may be laid under the existing shelving.

Through this process, we are also completing a full inventory of our collection. This inventory will allow us to guarantee that the books we show in our online catalog most accurately represent what is actually on our shelves.

Please bear with us as we continue packing, but know that in the fall, we will reap the benefits of all of our labor and your patience.
