As we begin the 2010-11 school year, the campus has come alive with old faces, new arrivals and two newly refurbished boys’ houses. At this time each year, I find that I can't help but reminisce about my time on this beautiful campus and the many alumni I have seen march across Darlington’s Commencement stage during the past 40+ years.

As I reconnect with many of you through my travels as an advancement officer, the question I hear most often is "What is Darlington like today?"

Maybe there are only a few teachers now from your years as a student, but the new ones are just as committed to their students, just as passionate about the subjects they teach, and most likely just as quirky. Our students – they are bright, energetic, and hard-working. Last year, they devoted thousands of hours to service in our community.

These two groups, teachers and students, deserve our strong support as we navigate through Darlington's second century. I ask that you consider making a generous donation to our Annual Fund this year or visit www.darlingtonschool.org/campaign to read more about making a Second Century Campaign gift that will benefit students and teaches both now and in the future.
