Watters named district STAR winner

Darlington senior Sam Watters and Armuchee High School senior Hope Bettler will represent their school districts next week at the regional Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program after being named system winners today by the Exchange Club.
Watters, who named English Department Chairperson Beth Wilson as his STAR Teacher, was unable to attended the luncheon because he was in Washington, D.C., where he had been interviewing for a scholarship at Washington and Lee University.
The two STAR winners will represent their districts at the regional event next Tuesday at Coosa Country Club. A win there would take them on to the state-level competition.
