Vocalists pass All-State Chorus first audition

Seniors Russell Evans and Rachel Fronzak, sophomore Jonathan Lane, and junior Benji White were selected from over 8,000 students from across the state to fill 800 positions in the 2003 Georgia All-State choruses. Showing proficiency in solo singing, scales, tonal memory, and sight-reading, these students’ scores were excellent with scores between 12.5 and 14 (10 is considered perfect).
The next phase is an audition to test to see if they know the music is scheduled for Saturday, March 22. The All-State Chorus Concert will be held in Savannah, Ga., Saturday, April 26. Preceding the concert, all-state chorus students will spend two days in intense rehearsals. Each student is assigned to a specific choir for the event. At the Upper School level there are four choirs, eleventh and twelfth grade mixed, ninth and tenth mixed, Treble Chorus, and Male Chorus, each with about 200 hundred singers.
