Dear Parents,

I hope that you are enjoying the summer months with your students. I write today to provide you with important information about the start of the school year. Please know these are all tentative plans based on current information and guidelines from CDC and the State of Georgia. Any of the current plans could change as these guidelines change.

On Monday, July 13, Darlington will open online registration for all families who have completed the necessary steps of the process thus far. It is imperative that you complete this step of the registration process with your student. During online registration, you will provide information that will help Darlington support you and your family throughout the school year.

Online Registration and Medical Form Requirements

You may begin the process by logging into the Darlington website and visiting the 2020-2021 Registration Section of the parent portal. If you have not already done so, please complete the online Medical Report questionnaire and upload the following documents: your student’s physical, current immunization/vaccination record, and a front and back copy of your student’s medical insurance card. An updated physical is required by July 28 if your student will be practicing or training with a GHSA sport before the start of school. If you have any questions about uploading the documents, please contact Denise Evans. If you have questions about logging in, please contact Paige Hamil. It is vital that this information is completed prior to the start of school.

Return to School Information

We are working this summer to ensure our students can safely return to campus. While our daily scheduled classes will continue to rotate and be on an odd/even schedule, expect small changes. We will have added time between classes to allow for our teachers, students, and facilities staff to clean desks between classes and to wash their hands. We are also looking at the possibility of three lunch times during the day to reduce the number of students in the dining hall at once.

As we work on these details on campus, please make sure that your student is working on his or her summer reading and other summer assignments. Information about these requirements can be found here

Save the Dates

  • Aug. 14-15 - Tiger Pride used uniform sale and Uniform Source uniform sale.
  • Aug. 14 - Move-in day for boarding students
  • We will be sending a return to school plan regarding move-in later in the week.
  • Aug. 15 - Orientation for students and their families

This is required for all ninth-grade students, all boarding students, and all new day students entering grades 10-12. We are still planning a way to make this work using the guidelines put in place by our Health of the Community Committee. More details will be included in our next correspondence in late July.

Purple Tie Affair: The Purple Tie Affair fundraiser for our parent organizations has been postponed. However, we plan to have an online Raise the Paddle for Athletics and Reverse Raffle. Details to come.

If you have specific questions regarding the registration process, boarding student arrivals, academics, or our Health Center please contact:

If there is anything that I can do to assist you and your family as you prepare for the upcoming school year, please do not hesitate to email me at cwoods@darlingtonschool.org or call me at 706-236-0441.
