Two score personal bests in first swim meet of the season

The first varsity swim and dive meet of the season against Northwest Whitfield and Cartersville saw senior Emily Thurmond and sophomore Will Robertson scoring personal bests.

Thurmond banked two, swimming a 27.84 in the 50 free (first place) and a 1:02.57 in the 100 free (third place). Robertson swam a personal best in the 200 IM with a 2:26.29, earning first place by 10 seconds).

The women's relay teams also placed first. The 200 Medley Relay team finished in 2:11.92 and included Janie Ivory, Melinda Childs, Emily Thurmond and Sami Depass. The 400 Free Relay team finished in 4:47.07 and included Melinda Childs, Mary Margaret Wright, Sami Depass and Emily Thurmond.

Junior Toni von Saldern placed first in her first-ever dive meet and senior Sarah Beth Cline finished second.
