Two named to All-Area Softball Team

Two Lady Tigers were selected for this year's Rome News-Tribune All-Area Softball Team.

Taylor Sullins, a junior, batted .368 and ranked among the team leaders in several categories despite suffering a late-season knee injury. She is the daughter or Pam and Mark Sullins of Cedartown, Ga.

Emily Thurmond, a sophomore, was Darlington’s biggest offensive weapon, batting .370 with a homer and 13 RBIs while leading the Lady Tigers in virtually all of the offensive categories. She is the daughter of Beverly and Mike Thurmond of Rome.

Sophomore Morgan Sidwell received an Honorable Mention. She is the daughter of Pam and Mark Sidwell of Rome.
