Two named to All-Area Softball team

Two junior girls have been named to the Rome-News Tribune's 2006 All-Area Softball team. Kaycie Bevis, shortstop, is the daughter of Penny and Scott Bevis of Cedartown, Ga. This year, she led the Lady Tigers with a .380 batting average while hitting leadoff. Jennifer Watford, pitcher, is the daughter of Donna and John Watford of Cedartown, Ga. This season, she overcame various injuries, including a pulled muscle in her back, to bat .375.
