Two honor societies induct new members

Darlington School’s science and math honor societies inducted new members during a ceremony held Monday, Feb. 18 in Morris Chapel.
“One of the most important things that we do in life is take the time to tell people, ‘job well done.’ The students being inducted have worked hard, and we have noticed,” said Mark Carleton, assistant headmaster and director of Upper School.
To be inducted into Gamma Chi Epsilon Science National Honor Society, seniors must be a member of the Georgia Junior Academy of Science; be in the top 20 percent of their graduating class; have successfully completed at least three science courses and be enrolled in a fourth; and be in good standing with Darlington School. Inductees included Kendall Brooks, Grover Brown, Mu-jung Chiu, EunJin Cho, Sarah Clements, Claire Davis, Mac Gilliland, Lucy Izard, Ricardo Wu, Chang-Sup Lee, Andy Lewis, Chutimun Napombejara, A Nutalaya, Sara Pate, Cole Phillips, Baylee Tudor, Kate Waters, Landon Watters and Dam-Sil Yoo.
To be inducted into Mu Alpha Theta Math National Honor Society, students must be currently enrolled in Pre-Calculus and have a minimum 94 average in all math courses taken. Only seniors may be inducted during their first year at Darlington. Inductees included Isabel Bonnyman, Kendall Brooks, Garrett Brown, Rachel Buckle, Jae Byun, Spencer Carroll, Anisha Chandra, Esha Chandra, Eryk Chiu, Ryan Chiu, Sarah Clements, Alexandra Dodd, Lauren Dulaney, Amee Eubank, Matthew Glover, Ben Goldberg, Lauren Hampton, Lucy Izard, Cleve Jackson, Kun Sun Lee, Andy Lewis, Jason Lu, Laura Lynch, Katie Mullen, A Nutalaya, Cole Phillips, Patrick Pierson, Tianyu Pu, Jett Wayne Puckett, Laura Rhoades, Taylor Richardson, T.J. Shea, Kevin Shen, Caroline Steverson, Yumehito Takimoto, Dane Walsh and Kate Waters.
