Two earn All-Area Wrestling honors

Two members of the varsity wrestling team have been named to the Rome News-Tribune All-Area Team.
Spencer Jones, a junior, was named Co-Wrestler of the Year, along with Rome High's Randy Roden, Armuchee's Kadin Scoggins and Chattooga's Brandon Siffles. Jones won his third straight state title this season in Class A, and recorded 34 wins to go along with only one loss en route to his three-peat. He is the son of Lisa and Scott Jones of Adairsville, Ga.
Jule Peek, a freshman, set the expectations pretty high for his career with a stellar first season. he went 31-8 and finished as runner-up at both the sectional and state tournaments. He is the son of Stacy and Jule Peek of Cedartown, Ga.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to senior Lucas Jennings, freshman Jordan Beck and junior Gavin Lawrence.
