Tucker accepted to Air Force Academy

U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey today announced that senior Wil Tucker has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
"I am so proud of our young men and women who are dedicated to protecting America during these critical times of national defense," said Gingrey, who nominated Tucker. "Wil has shown a commitment to academic excellence, hard work, and community service. I know these qualities will serve him well at the Air Force Academy."
Tucker is a member of the National Honor Society, and is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. At Darlington, he participates in the concert band, and plays for the varsity football, lacrosse, and wrestling teams. He is also involved with the Math Team and Science Club, as well as Barnes House Bible Study.
Rep. Gingrey nominates applicants based on leadership and academic qualities, including extracurricular and athletic activities.
Tucker is the son of Larry and Karen Tucker of Rome.
