The 5th Annual Tri for the Kids Youth Triathlon needs your help! The race is this Sunday, June 23, at Darlington School and will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs of NWGA. Over the past five years, Tri for the Kids has raised over $65,000 for the youth that attend The Boys & Girls Club centers in our area. With about 300 athletes coming from South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and all areas of Georgia, we need your help to make this race as successful as the previous races.

The race is usually held on the first Sunday of May, so many of our Darlington students, faculty and staff members are the key volunteers and cheerleaders for the event. Torrential rains caused us to delay the race to this Sunday and many of our trusty volunteers are already home for the summer! If you are available this Sunday and looking for a meaningful way to spend your morning, won't you consider volunteering your time at this very worthy event?

I get positive comments throughout the year about how wonderful our volunteers are at this race. Everyone is amazed that teenagers work so hard and get so much out of volunteering for this event. I tell them that it is no surprise -- the students at Darlington have a heart for volunteering, especially with kids, and it shows in their work ethic.

So if you can help keep the bar very high for our volunteer spirit, I would be most appreciative! It will be well worth your while -- I promise you will get more out of the race than most of the participants! Come and find out why it is such a great race to be a part of!

Contact me if you are available THIS Sunday, June 23, from 7:15 a.m. to noon.
