Transforming Lives Through Vision

Capital campaigns do more than change the physical environment of a school through bricks and mortar; they directly impact our students’ experiences. Each of the areas of focus outlined in our Second Century Campaign will do just that, so it is vital that we continue to build momentum as we move closer to our goal of raising $90 million for Darlington.

Because of the generous gifts that have been made so far to this campaign – totaling just over $72 million – we have already been fortunate enough to build a new, state-of-the art learning environment for our Middle School students and completely revamp our boys’ residence halls, thus creating an even more inviting home away from home for our boarding students. 

In August, I shared with you photos and details about our newly renovated boys’ residence halls. Reba Barnes, head of Summerbell House, has lived in South Hall for 14 years. During that time, she has watched the dorms transform before her eyes, but more important than that, she has witnessed the transformation of the hundreds of students thanks to the experience they had at Darlington.
