Transforming Lives Through Stewardship

As a former boarding student, I know how important the residence halls are in making the Darlington experience so special. The friendships I formed during my years of living on campus are among my strongest and most meaningful. Darlington is wholeheartedly committed to providing a home away from home for all of our residential students and now – thanks to the generosity of our alumni, parents and friends – we are proud to offer beautifully renovated boys’ houses that rival the quality of the girls’ houses that were built a few years ago.

Darlington’s historic boys’ houses have welcomed thousands of students over the years, and countless memories have been made in these hallowed halls. Originally built in the late 1920s and updated periodically over the years, the boys’ houses have now entered the twenty-first century with state-of-the-art features and technology. The architect worked closely with the boys and their heads of house to design a complete transformation that truly meets their needs.  Upgrades include a complete renovation of each room and the addition of new common areas with full kitchen and flat screen TVs. Extra dorm rooms and faculty apartments were also added.

Both my brother, James Wilson (’94), and late grandfather, Gene Cofer (’48), spent their high school years in these residence halls, and I know they would have loved to experience these renovated rooms firsthand.
