Tough Weekend Ahead for Soccer Academy

Please wish the Soccer Academy boys and girls good luck as you see them in the halls today and tomorrow. All our boys and girls will be traveling to Decatur, Alabama this weekend for the International Open Cup.    

 

On Friday night at 7 p.m. CST, our U18 Boys will be playing FESA - Top PROFESSIONAL club from El Salvador. Over 75% of El Salvador's National Team comes from this club. Our game Friday night will be the Showcase event for the tournament playing in front of all the registered teams and college coaches on the stadium field.  

This tournament will host 180 teams from all over the United States, Canada, El Salvador, and Mexico. Another top professional club attending will be Monterrey Riados from Mexico. Monterrey won the club championship for all of North and South American Professional clubs.

Finally, if you see Jane Campbell on campus today, please congratulate her for making the U17 US Women's World Cup Team squad as the starting Goalkeeper. Jane will be traveling at the end of this month to play in the CONCACAF FINALS in Guatemala. Over the past year, she has played against China's U20 National Team, England's U19 National Team, France's U19 National Team, Japan, Germany U19 Women's National Team, and others. At CONCACAF, they will face Trinidad and Tobago, Bahamas, Mexico, and eventually Canada.
