Tiger Pride provides for Yamaha keyboard lab

Thanks to the dedication and generosity of Tiger Pride, Parent Rallying in the Interest of Darlington Education (Darlington Lower School parent organization), Lower School music students in first through fifth grades are learning musical concepts with the latest technology. Tiger Pride purchased equipment that allowed the music department to create a Yamaha keyboard lab in January. According to Diane Lumpkin, Lower School music teacher, it is a great success. “All the students participate in class by using a keyboard," Lumpkin enthusiastically explained. "It’s an innovative and new approach to teaching music. Our students are not only learning music concepts, they are experiencing the latest technology.” The School did not have to make any space adjustments to create the lab. It is located in the music room. According to Lumpkin, the system and software are updated each month, providing the classroom with the most current music instruction technology. “You just have to see it to believe it,” Lumpkin shared.
