Tiger Expert Senior Interview: Arden Babb

Arden Babb has been a student at Darlington since the second grade. She has been a member of the varsity softball team for her entire high school career and also serves as a Tiger Expert and a member of the Honor Council. One of her favorite quotes is, “This is not about going back. This is about life being ahead of you and you run at it! Because you never know how far you can run unless you run.” 

What is something that not many people know about you?

Not many people know that I am not originally from Georgia. My family is from California and I was actually born in Hawaii. Most people think that I’m just a Georgia girl and I definitely am not at all.

What are you most passionate about?

Outside of school, I am most passionate about my photography. It is a hobby that I spend a lot of time on and it is something that I am really proud of.

What is your favorite thing to do?

Anything that gets me out of the house. Whether it be playing with animals, exploring, horseback riding, soccer – just anything that gets me active and outside.

If you could do anything in the world, what would you do?

I would love to be able to travel. I want to have the finances available to explore the world and get out of the small little bubble of the U.S. that many people are stuck inside most of their lives. A great thing about Darlington is that it gives me an opportunity to meet people from all around the world. I get to see what life is like for them in their corner of the world and through these interactions, my perspective broadens.

What do you aspire to do in the future?

I would really love to take all of the things that I have learned at Darlington and use them to help the world. I am very concerned with the environment, so I would like to help create a future that is more environmentally friendly. Darlington has given me the tools to take my passions and use them to make this world a better place.
