Click here to find out how to get tickets to see author Kristin Kimball at Darlington on Oct. 13. As part of the community's One Book, Many Voices reading initiative, Romans are reading Kimball's “The Dirty Life: A Memoir of Farming, Food, and Love.”

Kimball’s story tells the journey of her and her husband’s farming experience when they set their sights on trying to grow everything needed to feed a community and doing it the old-fashioned way. Her book chronicles their first year on Essex Farm, their 500-acre cooperative farm near Lake Champlain, N.Y.

Tickets for the author’s speech, at $5 each, are available at the Rome-Floyd County Library, Kroger and the Rome-Floyd Visitors Center. Her talk will begin at 7 p.m. in Darlington's Huffman Athletic Center.
