Three named to Class A Area 3 All-Area Team

Three of Darlington's varsity soccer players are among the 22 student-athletes named to the Class A Area 3 All-Area Soccer Team, according to head coach Carson Raymond. 

Evan Echols, a senior, is a four-year varsity soccer player. He scored 19 goals during the regular season and 21 goals in total, including the post-season. Coach Raymond calls Echols an outstanding forward and offensive player, adding that he was the Tigers' "go to" finisher all season long. He also plays club soccer for Birmingham United. He is the son of Pam and David Echols of Rome.

Owen Greeson, a senior, is a three-year varsity soccer player. He scored six goals during the regular season and eight goals in total. Coach Raymond calls Greeson an extremely influential player in the field, often playing in the center midfield and outside midfield positions, and the architect of the Tigers' offensive strategy. A team captain, he also played club soccer for Rome Arsenal. He is the son of Debbie and Dan Greeson of Rome.

Lucas Jennings, a senior, is a four-year member of Darlington's soccer program. As goalie, he played eight games with his total saves jumping into the double-digits. He earned the honor of most saves in a single game this season, with 22 during the Tigers' 5-3 victory over Atkinson County on April 29 in their first round state playoffs. Coach Raymond calls Jennings a tremendous athlete and a humble leader. He also played club soccer for Rome Arsenal. He is the son of Linda and Russ Jennings of Rome.
