Recently, the Library Services Department purchased two Nooks from Barnes & Noble.  If you're not familiar with this new technology, a Nook is an electronic eBook reader that allows anyone with an account to purchase eBooks, magazines and newspaper subscriptions instantaneously.

By purchasing the Nooks we are now able to brainstorm creative ways to get desired reading material into our students hands faster and provide them with experience using the latest technology on the market.

We're only in the beginning stages of this project, but I can happily report that I recently had a student come to me with a request for two books that we did not currently have in our upper school library.  I was able to locate and download these books onto one of our Nooks in less than a minute.  I then loaned the Nook to the student, and she left with the books she needed and a smile on her face.

Please stay tuned as we continue to find great uses for this exciting new technology!
