The **NEW** Middle School Library is now OPEN!
By Melinda Holmes - FF/S
After several weeks of preparation, the new Middle School Library is open for business! The long wait for this library has given way to a beautiful and well-thought out space for students and faculty to read, study, hold classes, or just relax.
The shelves may look a little empty but we have approximately 4,000 books now with room to grow the collection to 10,000 books in the future! In addition to new fiction, we are preparing to order nonfiction books and materials to support the Middle School curriculum. Please let us know of specific titles you would like to see in the library.
Students are currently participating in an orientation to review library organization. In addition, they are learning about the checkout system and library protocol.
As excited as we are about the new library, the current economic situation prevented us from attaining a full time librarian for this library. Nonetheless, we are dedicated to our students and teachers. We have developed a schedule that allows students access to the library whenever they have flexible time in their daily schedules. We are also working with teachers to schedule as many classes as possible in the new library. For this year, our hours are:
