The Enchanted Garden: Where Imaginations Grow

Nestled deep within the Joanne G. Yancey Library sits the Enchanted Garden, a cozy place designed with Darlington’s youngest students in mind.
Boys and girls in the Early Learning Academy through second grade will discover shelves and carts blooming with picture books, “I Can Read” books, and a special collection of Caldecott Award Winners. Students can explore books by favorite authors, such as Dr. Seuss and Mo Willems, along with books about favorite characters, such as Arthur, Clifford, and Angelina Ballerina. More fluent readers also have access to specially selected early chapter books, such as the Junie B. Jones and Magic Treehouse series.
Students visit the library weekly for Story Time with the Librarian, followed by book selection and checkout. Our youngest boys and girls will also learn about types of books, book care, genres, and more.
