Taking Time to Celebrate

As we finish up another great year at Darlington, it’s important that we all take time to celebrate what we are doing well and the people who work hard every day to make our program the best it can be. Last night was one of those special opportunities. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – a school is only as strong as the adults who teach, advise and coach the students. They are the people who teach our children to become well-educated, responsible human beings. Every day, they encourage our students to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop their individual strengths and talents. They use teachable moments to show our young people the importance of discerning right from wrong, acting with courage and conviction, practicing ethical leadership, and exhibiting honorable character. They challenge them to learn with passion, act with integrity and serve with respect. And many times, they inspire our graduates to perpetuate these attributes throughout their lives, both as individuals and as members of the world community.

The student-teacher relationship has been an important part of the Darlington experience for over a century. In fact, this institution was named in honor of a teacher who so impressed his students that they built a school to perpetuate his memory. We are committed to furthering the legacy of Mr. J.J. Darlington by continuing to recruit instructors and staff members of the highest caliber. After all, Darlington’s ability to provide students with the finest college-preparatory experience available rests solely on the strength of our faculty.
