Swim team dives into successful season

The Darlington swim team, led by captains Mark Mooring, Kirby Cross and Rachel Sargent, completed a successful season on Feb. 7. The overall record was 15-21 with Megan Bevill qualifying to attend the State Diving Meet at Westminster. One unique thing about the season was that all meets were held at home. “Seventeen different teams swam against Darlington and each coach had nothing but praise for the new facility and the way our meets were conducted,” said Tom Sorci, head coach. “I was pleased with the work of assistant coaches, Kristen Yamzon and Tony Lopez. We also saw more students join the team and try out for diving under the tutelage of Pat Waddell.”
