Summer Activity May Provide Path to Choice College

Current sophomores and juniors who are looking for interesting ways to spend the summer should consider the many special programs for high school students offered on college campuses around the country. “One of the important ways in which students are evaluated by selective colleges is by how they use their out-of-class time - what they choose to do after school and in the summers,” Moss said. “An added benefit of programs on a college campuses is that it gives students a chance to preview a college first-hand to see if it would be a good match.”

The college guidance office has information on numerous programs including various abroad studies, Outward Bound programs, and college and university programs.
