The entire fourth grade at the Lower school traveled to Cartersville, Ga., May 21, to explore the Weinman Mineral Museum. The students toured the museum, participated in hands-on activities, panned for gold, visited the gift shop, and learned how water erosion occurs along rivers. “The tour guides who led us through the museum were so informative. They made the visit extremely interesting,” Lola Bradshaw, Lower School teacher, said.

This annual field trip is a conclusion to the students' geology study. “The new rocks and boulders placed in the rock gardens during last summer's renovation were a special interest to the group,” Bradshaw said.

As is the tradition, at the end of the tour, the students were served a picnic luncheon under the pavilion on the grounds. The customary outdoor games were cancelled due to rain.
