Darlington’s fine arts department will present its annual Musical Theater Variety Show Monday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Zelle Drama Room. The production will feature ensemble and individual performances from many famous Broadway plays.

“The revue is student-directed and choreographed, for the most part,” said Morgan McCrary, theater director. “They have worked on these numbers all trimester, and it’s really starting to come together. Some of the students have quite a bit of stage experience, and they are mentoring those in the class who have never performed before. It’s a diverse class in terms of interests and ability levels, and I know they are all looking forward to showing off their hard work.”

The program includes songs from “Avenue Q,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Producers,” “Dream Girls,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Rent,” to name a few. Students involved in the production are Bonnie Blumetti, Bau Cherry, T.J. Crews, Alex Dean, Christie Doss, Paula Fearon, Jonathan Gilreath, Shanarra Goode, Tina Green, Andy Lewis, Emily Morrow, Caitlin Murray, Constanza Ospina, Ben Pate, Quincy Price, Ashley Rusaw, Ashley Udell and Dane Walsh.

Admission is free. For more information, please e-mail Jason Whitfield, musical director, at jwhitfield@darlingtonschool.org.
