Students selected for GISA and GMEA ensembles

Hard work and extra practice paid off for seven Middle School band students, who have been selected to participate in special GISA and GMEA ensemble groups.
The GISA All-Select Band, to be held Feb. 2-3 at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Alpharetta, Ga., will include Bailey Brock (flute), Emily Dodd (trumpet), Dillon Weeks (trumpet), Asa Crawford (trombone) and Sahil Patel (percussion).
In addition, trombone players Annelise Gilmer and Bonnie Rowland will represent Darlington Feb. 8-9 at the GMEA District Honor Band at Calhoun Middle School. This marks the first time in 10 years that the Middle School has been represented in this high-honor event.
