Students prepare Easter baskets for Rebecca Blaylock Child Development Center

An 18-year Easter tradition changed slightly this year. Instead of the children from Rebecca Blaylock Child Development Center coming to the Middle School campus for an Easter egg hunt and snacks, Darlington’s students took the Easter eggs to the development center.
“The center wasn’t able to afford the cost of the buses needed to transport its children to Darlington, so we went to them,” LaVance Atkins, Middle School instructor, said. Students brought in plastic eggs and candy, and the two art classes decorated bags. Sally Muschamp’s class filled the eggs with candy to go in the bags and Atkins took them all to the center’s East Rome location. The center then sent half of the bags to its West Rome location.
