French language students, faculty, and friends are preparing for French Immersion Day, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4, on the Darlington Upper School campus. Plans include movies, games, and cooking in the Guest House from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. with Nathalie Welch, Darlington parent and development office gift manager, who is from France.
Special displays will adorn the language department hall and food tasting will be an additional benefit that the Upper School campus will have the opportunity to enjoy, Nov. 6-10.
Darlington French language students become engrossed in the language often –not just on their annual French Immersion Day. Although Immersion Day is a valuable opportunity, it is not the only chance these students have to learn about the language outside the conventional ways.
During the Garden Hill Theatre’s French film festival, some of Darlington’s French language students traveled to the Atlanta area to experience the language. They attended the French film, “Rendez Vous in Paris,” and later shared a provincial meal at Anis Restaurant in Buckhead.
