Students earn AP Scholar distinction

Darlington School continues to uphold a tradition of excellence in academics, which is shown by 22 students being named AP Scholars by the College Board.
Seniors Porter Leslie, Raymond Murray, Erin Pridgen, have been named AP Scholars in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level AP examinations along with recent Darlington graduates Omar Ahmed ‘01, Diana Beauford ‘01, Jordan Bray ‘01, Kelli Hutchinson ‘01, Catherine Lawler ‘01, Matt Johnson '01, Elias Montgomery ‘01, Page Thomas ‘01, Seityan Yeung ‘01, and John Nanfro ‘01. Only about 13 percent of the more than 840,000 students who took the AP exams in May 2001 performed at a sufficiently high level to merit such recognition.
Senior Nasreen Fakhri and recents graduates Querida Campbell ‘01, Holly Jarrell ‘01, Young Jae Lee ‘01, Janet Parker ‘01, and Kellen Spivey ’01, qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of three or higher on four or more of these exams.
Recent graduates Lindsay Harbin ‘01, Morgan McCrary ‘01, Joanna Mundy ‘01, and Rebecca Rhodes ’01, qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of three or higher on five or more of these exams.
